About Kitsune

Kitsune started as a fan idea. The concept came from one of the winners of the first fan fruit and art contest, and it became the second fan-made fruit after Sound.

As a grinder it works in all three seas and comes close to Buddha in most respects. You throw blue fire, and the transformation into the fox of Japanese mythology boosts your attacks, adds speed and lets you walk on water, paid for with some of your tails. At three tails your movement speed jumps and the passive can break Instinct. Allies can even ride on the transformed fox.

Water is where it gets awkward. You cannot stand still on the surface, and [M1] damage can be low depending on your Blox Fruit stat, so Sea Events and raids take more work. [C] is the only long-range move, which leaves you outranged by Flame, Light or Gravity. Untransformed PvP is underwhelming next to the transformation, M1 knockback is annoying in open areas, and low-level players will struggle with the mastery requirements.

Kitsune is one of the hardest fruits to get. We treat any trade involving it as a big deal and check the offer twice. Fun detail: the icon shows nine tails, but the model has three, or five when transformed.
