Dying is part of the plan with Ghost. When you go down, you come back as a ghost with half of your max health and two seconds of i-frames, which is often enough to turn a fight around. The resurrection does not trigger if you die to water or reset, and the finisher of one Dragon Talon move bypasses it entirely.

For its price Ghost is extremely good in PvE and very good in PvP. Cooldowns are fast, knockback is small so grinding groups stay together, stuns last long enough to extend combos, and mastery requirements are low. You also get ghostly clones that attack and confuse enemies, though they only target foes who are close to you.

Range is the recurring complaint. Most moves are close-ranged, the kit lacks a good combo starter, and one move carries you an inconsistent distance past the enemy.

Two quirks we find amusing: the fruit was called Revive before Update 21, and a Permanent Ghost still shows the Revive icon in your inventory. The green glow from the passive also sticks around after you switch fruits, until you die or leave the game. If you are torn between Rare fruits, Rubber is the closest alternative on price.
