Our take
Early-game money fruits, and the pair that new players compare most often. Light is about speed: flight, mobility, and a kit that makes travelling between islands painless. Magma is about damage over ground, with residual burn that keeps working while you move.
For grinding in the First and Second Sea, we would take Magma: it clears groups faster and does not ask for much mastery. Light is the better choice if you are tired of boats.
Neither is worth much in trades, and that is the point. Both are cheap enough to buy outright, so do not let anyone talk you into giving up a mythical for one.
