Our take
Lightning is the fruit most people still know as Rumble, and it has been a reliable grinder for years. Gas is newer, meaner in PvP and heavier in trades.
The gap between them is wider than their roles suggest. Gas carries the demand of a fruit people actually want to fight with; Lightning carries the reputation of one everybody has already used and moved on from.
If you are picking one to play, Lightning is still fine for farming and costs far less. If you are picking one to hold, Gas is the safer store of value, and its permanent version is the part of this trade that usually matters.
